Of recent the district has had a number of developments across the sectors that have in one way or another impacted on the Social Economic Development of the District. These include:
Hotel Industry:
The private business community has invested in this industry providing employment opportunities to the local people, training facilities and recreation in Masindi District. Hotel Victory Bijja, New Hotel Aribas and Court View Hotel are all recent developments in the district.
Communication:
The communication has been improved through the installation of more Masts by MTN, CELTEL UTL increasing net work coverage in the District. Four local FM Radio Stations namely: Bunyoro Broadcasting Services (BBS), Masindi Broadcasting Services -Radio Kitara (MBS), Radio Uganda FM, Top Radio have been established. There is improved access to Uganda Television signals due to rehabilitation of Kigulya booster.
Training Centers: Masindi District Local Government in collaboration with International Care and Relief (ICR) has constructed a new Agricultural demonstration and training center (ADTC) at Kihonda to facilitate the training of Farmers.The center is equipped with Demonstration plots, piggery unit and poultry unit. Rural Electrification:
Power has been extended to the following areas: Buliima, Bwijanga, Bujenje, Kiryanga and Kalyango. An extension grid has also been constructed from Apac District connecting Masindi Port, Kigumba, Kiryandongo, Bweyale and Karuma. Other parts connected on this grid are Kyatiri, Pakanyi and Kisanja.
