Ag. DPO Masindi Hands Over Office

The Ag. District Production and Marketing Officer (DPO) Lawrence Tusimomuhangi on Tuesday 29th September Officially handed over Office to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) who will appoint a relevant Officer to Care take the Production
During the handover, held in the Production Office, the Outgoing DPO expressed his gratitude for the opportunity awarded to him to serve Masindi District Local Government at different capacities. "The Guidance and support Accorded to me during the period
I have been in Masindi District Local Government which have enhanced my Leadership Skills", Tusimomuhangi said.
He also thanked the District Local Government for the Collaboration, Mentorship and Cooperation that has been extended to him during his time of Service in Masindi District.
Tusimomuhangi revealed that, he was assigned a duty to take charge as Ag. DPO on the 22nd November, 2019 taking over from Dr. Fred Ssebuguzi the Principal Veterinary Officer.
He says, he has now been offered appointment on transfer of services from Masindi District Local Government to the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) as an Assistant Commissioner for Productive Entomology.
He however, handed over some of the following instruments of power and assets under the Production and Marketing Department as follows
22 Motorcycles, MADEC Assets, Office Equipment, and a Departmental Vehicle.
Meanwhile, He explained that the Cattle at Kihonda Farm initially have been 10, but unfortunately one male animal died of an illness and that currently there are nine cows, five males and four females
In a related development, the Principal assistant Chief Administrative Officer (PACAO) Richard Kiiza who endorsed the Outgoing DPO, thanked Tusimomuhangi for the deligent services that he has exhibited during his stay in Masindi District.
Kiiza said, "You have persevered to ensure that people of Masindi get services required. I now urge you to be a good ambassador to Masindi because the District has natured you".
He further wished him all the best while serving at the Ministry and that he retires at the rank of a Commissioner.
Kiiza however expressed concern over the manpower gap that the Production and Marketing Department is going to face since some positions require atmost brains and now a big short has left.
He also advised the outgoing DPO to clear with the Accounts and Audit Section such that he is not disturbed with phone calls over Audit Queries.
The handover was witnessed by the Principal Internal Auditor (PIA) Patrick Okise, the Principal Veterinary Officer Dr. Fred Ssebuguzi, the OWC Coordinator Buruli Nobert Besisira and Assistant Entomologist Jibril Kwikiriza.
