Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (AVCP) to be Unveiled Soon in Masindi

The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) has embarked on a plan to unveil a new project called the Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (AVCP) in the Central 

and Western Districts with an aim of improving production for rice, maize and dairy/beef production among farmers.

On Monday, Cyprian Ssekubulwa, a Senior Iinvestment Officer under MAAIF, conducted a senstization meeting to village agents and other value actors in the District Council Chambers with a

purpose of imparting knowledge about the new Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (AVCP) which he says will be launched soon in the District.

According to Ssekubulwa, the AVCP-Project will focus on four community value chains including rice, maize and dairy/beef production.

Ssekubulwa said Masindi will mainly focus on two commodity items of maize and rice.

He disclosed that, the new project is slated to enhance production and productivity, causing infrastructure development, increase market access and trade facilitation among farmers.
