Masindi Registers 8th COVID-19 Case

Masindi District yesterday recorded the 8th COVID-19 case of a male resident of Kisengya Cell in Nyangahya Division, Masindi Municipality.
The Ag. District Health Officer (DHO) Patrick Baguma confirmed the case and said they received results yesterday morning indicating that the victim tested positive for COVID-19.
Baguma revealed that the confirmed positive person will be evacuated to either Namboole or Mubende Treatment Centre for better management.
He disclosed that, the survailance team has started tracing the contacts of the victim.
Baguma noted that, out of the seven previously confirmed COVID-19 cases in the District, four people have recovered while three people are still receiving treatment in various treatment centres.
The Ag. DHO has expressed concern over the soaring COVID-19 cases in the District and has appealed to the General Public to always wear face masks, sanitize hands, keep social distance of atleast two meters
while in public and adhere to other Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in order to mitigate the COVID-19 Pandemic.
