Minister Urges Civil Servants to Desist from Corruption and Fraud

The Minister of Public Service Muruli Mukasa has rallied civil servants to desist from corruption tendencies inorder to improve on service delivery.
Speaking to civil servants in Masindi during an Impromputu Technical Planning Committee (TPC) Meeting on corruption and fraud held on Monday 4th January 2021 at
the District Council Chambers, Muruli said it's corruption and fraud that has largely hindered effective service delivery in the District.
He disclosed that, "Uganda takes the 149th Position out of 180 most corrupt countries in the World, Rwanda is in the 51st Position followed by Tanzania in the 56th Position,
Burundi is in the 156th Position while South Sudan is in the 179th Position".
Addressing the same meeting, the District LC 5 Chairperson Cosmas Byaruhanga applouded the Technical staff for the great work they are doing something he says has fostered development in the District.
He however decried the low wage of Teachers, stressing that this has demoralised some teachers in service delivering and this has affected the performance of pupils
and Students in the District.
