New In Patient Department to be named after Dr.Abiriga Jino

Masindi District Council has passed aresolution to name the new In Patient Department that is in the offing for construction after the Acting District Health Officer(Ag.DHO)Dr.Abiriga Jino.
The proposal was submitted by the District Male Councilor for PWDs, William Mwambu during yesterday's special council session to honor the fallen Doctor that was held at the district headquarters.
His proposal was supported unanimously by fellow council members .
Relatedly,the proposal to name the road where Wanainchi clinic is in memory of Dr.Abiriga was forwarded to the Municipal Council for a blessing and after which,the District would name the road.
Speaking to hundreds of mourners who thronged the district gardens to pay their last respect to Dr.Abiriga,the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Masindi,Phionah Sanyu said that Dr.Abiriga joined civil service in April 1999 as a Medical Officer and was later promoted to the position of Senior Medical Officer attached to Masindi Hospital and by the time he met his death,he had been assigned duties of Acting District Health Officer (Ag.DHO), a position he has been holding for two since 2022.
Sanyu,thanked the District Council for according the slain Doctor aspecial council session to remember his excellent service.
She urged both politicians and technocrats to emulate the District Council prayer while executing thier duties.
She said,"Dr.Abiriga Jino has been ateam player, professional, committed, resilient, upright and a technical officer with high integrity".
She added that,Dr.Abiriga helped the entity to retire all accountabilities in Health department that had accumulated over time.
The District Chairperson, Cosmas Byaruhanga described the fallen Doctor saying that,"he was aspecial gifted Surgeon with hands blessed with healing who was committed to Masindi for all his life,a person of integrity but which many people laugh at".
The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Masindi, Emmy Ngabirano told mourners that the death of Dr.Abiriga was not political neither Tribal but it was a criminal death.
He assured Mourners that,by Friday this week, whoever participated in the gruesome murder of the Doctor will be arraigned in court since police have got leads.
