96 Government Aided Primary Schools given radio set donation

Over 96 Government Aided Primary Schools in Masindi district have today recieved adonation of radio sets from USAID under the project dubbed Integrated Child and Youth Development Activity (ICYD) which will enable lower primary learners acquire vast knowledge in reading and writing skills.
While handing over the donation to the beneficiary schools, Happy Rogers the Coordinator of the ICYD project,said the radios have already pre-recorded early grade reading letters and sounds component that will ease the work of teachers during demonstrations to pupils.
He further disclosed that, 69 radio sets have been given to the District schools while 26 have been given to the Municipal schools.
He said,the five year project which commenced during the out break of COVID-19 around 2020,is operating in 72 Local Governments in zones of Mbarara, Hoima, Gulu, Lira, Wakiso and Jinja.
The Hoima Zone is covering seven districts including;Hoima, Masindi, Kikuube,Kakumiro, Kibaale, Kagadi and Kyenjojo.
