Community Actors given bicycles to aid them prevent crime

The Assistant Resident District Commissioner (ARDC) Masindi,Hellen Tugume on Thursday this week handed over 12 bicycles to community actors under the Legal Aid Service Providers Network (LASPNET)to enable ease their movements while in communities as they implement the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime(UNODC) project within the district.
In her remarks, Tugume urged the community actors to prevent crime in their communities through counselling those involved in drug abuse as well as seeking for support from security agencies so that the vice is whipped out in the society .
Speaking in the same meeting,the District Chairperson Cosmas Byaruhanga, challenged community actors to be brave as they fight crime especially in sugar cane growing areas where anumber of casual labourers use drugs while working in plantations.
The Principal Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (PACAO)Musa Kyamiza,called upon community actors to be exemplary in the society as they preach fair treatment and justice.
