Conduct procurement process in a transparent and fairway-ED-PPDA advises

The Executive Director of Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority Benson Turamye has called for transparency and promotion of competition while carrying out procurement processes in Masindi district inorder to attain value for money to the citizens.
He made the call on Friday last week, while addressing stakeholders during the baraza public engagement on procurement process in Masindi that was held at the district headquarters.
Speaking at the same function,the District Chairperson, Cosmas Byaruhanga assured stakeholders that the public Baraza was not aimed at targeting individuals but rather creating checks and balances on issues of procurement in the district.
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Phionah Sanyu reminded the public that the district is running a budget of shs 30.6billions in the FY 2022/2023 and of this,shs 3.4 billion was allocated to Pension and gratuity while shs 17.2 billion was allocated to wage and shs 10.8 billion was allocated to development expenditure where procurement process lies.
She therefore stressed that, procurement is a driver to quality services.
Meanwhile,the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Emmy Ngabirano refuted claims of delayed project commissioning caused by him, saying that he waits for technical brief from the accounting officer for projects which are ready to be commissioned.
