Masindi District Council blesses Kayanja land for Bunyoro Public Varsity

Masindi District Council on Friday last week,recommended Kayanja land for the construction of Bunyoro Public University for Greater Masindi.
Kayanja land is located in Nyangahya Division in Masindi Municipality.
While presenting the committee field findings during the council session,the Production Committee Chairperson, Noreen Tinka revealed the findings as below;that the major objective of the land was education purpose,that the land didn't have permanent developments of government and therefore needed to secure it to avoid being grabbed in future,that Kayanja land is centrally located within the Municipality, that Kayanja land is bigger than Masindi Agricultural Demonstration Center (MADEC) Kihonda measuring 131 acres against 115 acres among others.
The report further disclosed that the university would be in acollegial state and having three campuses of Greater Hoima which would offer courses in Health Science and Teacher Education,the Kibaale Greater Campus would offer courses in Agriculture and Environmental Science while the Masindi Greater campus would offer courses in Technological Studies and Engineering.
In another development,the Secretary for Finance Pamela Nyakato laid the Budget Estimates of the new FY2023/2024 worth Shs 32.6 billion.
