Masindi LCV Boss Challenges MP's to Increase Funding for Health Centres

Masindi District Chairperson Cosmas Byaruhanga has challenged Members of Parliament to increase funding for the Health Sector in order to improve status of Health Centres Country Wide.
Cosmus said this today, during a meeting between the District COVID-19 Task Force Committee Members and the Parliamentary Task Force Committee on COVID-19 held at Masindi General Hospital.
"COVID-19 came to check the Health System of our country, it has checked whether we have enough temperature testing kits, Oxygen and other Medical Essentials", Cosmus said.
The Parliamentary Chairperson on COVID-19 Task Force Response Team Dr. Joseph Ruyonga, The MP for Hoima City, West Division has spent the day in Masindi assessing the Health Status as oppossed to COVID-19.
Meanwhile, The Ag. District Health Officer told the Parliamentary COVID-19 Response Team that Masindi has no case in ICU in Hoima Regional Referal Hospital and that the cumulative cases have reduced.
He said, "Currently we have 28 Active COVID-19 Cases under Home Based Care out of the 165 Cases that were in Home Based Care in Wave 1 and 2. The Registered Total Death in Wave 1 and 2 is 17".
He also decried the poor state of Masindi Hospital which is overwhelmed with patients and yet it's capacity is meant to handle not more than 100 patients.
He later appealed to the Parliamentarians to lobby for more Ambulances since the Hospital Ambulance is only one and it easily break down due to many referrals and evacuation of patients.
Masindi District Woman Member of Parliament Dr. Florence Asiimwe called for the vaccination of every Ugandan if the pandemic is to be fought.
