Masindi RDC launches roadworks worth shs 190m

Shs190m road maintenance works were on Thursday this week launched by Masindi district Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Darius Nandinda, with a call to locals to embrace government programs inorder to utilize the roads economically.
The launched road maintenance works include, Butoobe-Kiina (5.8kms)road costing shs 60m and Kikuube-Balyeijukira-Kitinwa (17.2kms)road costing shs 130m.
Speaking at the same function,the District Chairperson Cosmas Byaruhanga,told the road beneficiaries that it was out of his tireless efforts that he lobbied for shs 1bn road increament from His Excellency the President since entities were grappling with meager road funds.
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Masindi, Tappy Namulondo urged the residents to desist from carrying out activities in the road reserves as the practice destroys road drainage channels affecting the life span of worked upon roads.
On her part,the Secretary for Finance who also doubles as the Female District Councilor for Bikonzi Sub-County, Pamela Nyakato,asked for support from the District leadership to consider renovating Kikuube Primary school as the structures are dilapidated.
