Masindi RDC Launches Shillings 24.3 million Borehole Drilling Project

The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Masindi, Emmy Ngabirano yesterday launched the drilling of a borehole worth shillings 24,384,781 in Kasomoro village, Miirya Subcounty in Masindi District with a call to the Water User Committee to protect and maintain the borehole to enable it serve the community efficiently.
According to the District Water Officer, Alfred Ocen, a total of 10 boreholes are slated to be drilled this financial year 2021/22 each borehole costing shillings 24,384,781 and a production well drilled at shillings 42,544,782 bringing the total sum of drilling to shillings 286,392,592.
Speaking during the same function, the District Chairperson Cosmas Byaruhanga said that, the district decided to drill 5 boreholes out of the 10 in Miirya Subcounty, because this area has for along time had a crisis of water.
He has urged the Water User Committees to always handle minor repairs so that the district concentrates on major repairs.
The Village Health Team (VHT) member for Kasomora village, Margret Atuhairwe thanked government for extending water supply to their village something which she says that they now have sufficient water.
