Masindi RDC launches shs296.9m classroom blocks construction

The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Masindi, Emmy Ngabirano has launched construction of classroom blocks worth Shs 296,900,260 in the Sub-Counties of Labongo,Miirya and Bwijanga respectively.
In Labongo Sub-County,the RDC led leaders to perform ground breaking of the construction of atwo classroom block at Walyoba P/S costing shs 98,947,130 while in Miirya Sub-County he led the team to launch the construction of atwo classroom block at Kinumi P/S at shs 98,978,919 as well as the same classroom block which will be undertaken at Kihagani P/S costing shs 98,974,211 in Bwijanga Sub-County.
Addressing beneficiaries while at Kinumi Primary school yesterday,the RDC called for improved academic performance since government has gifted this school with anew infrastructure.
Speaking during the same event,the District Chairperson Cosmas Byaruhanga, expressed concern over the decline in academic performance of this school compared to recent years when the school used to produce candidates in first grade.
According to the results released by the school headteacher, Edward Tamale,out of the 70candidates who registered for PLE in 2022,no candidate passed in Div.I,31 candidates passed in Div.II,18 passed in Div.III while 7passed in Div.IV respectively.9 candidates failed the examinations while 5 missed the examinations.
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Phionah Sanyu, cautioned contractors against producing shoddy works saying that the image of the district has recently been destroyed due to asection of capital projects that were executed in asub-standard way.
The tough speaking CAO,told contractors not to play around this time with capital projects as she won't allow tax payers' money to go to waste.
