Masindi Receives 54 Pigglets

Masindi District yesterday received 54 pigglets under the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) Program and these pigglets will be distributed to the sub-counties within the District.
18 Pigglets were male while 36 were females and they were supplied by Omuron Grace Piggery Farm and Delivered by a white canter lorry registration number UBH 733A.
Speaking to beneficiries, The Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Dominic Tibasimwa urged the beneficiaries to feed the pigglets well in order to increase on their household income. he also appreciated the government for allevating locals out of poverty through providing for them OWC items.
Speaking at the same event, the OWC Coordinator for Buruli County Major Nobert Besisira Akiiki advised the locals to put much emphasis in Piggery Farming since it reaps returns within a short period of time. He added that the beneficiaries should ensure that they multiply the pigglets to enable other locals also benefit.
The Ag. District Production and Marketing Officer (DPMO) Dr. Fred Ssebuguzi called upon the beneficiaries to always seek for veterinary services from the veterinary officers who are located in the sub-counties. Dr. Ssebuguzi stressed that, this will help the pigglets to have healthy living.
