Masindi recieves an agricultural equipment

Masindi District yesterday was given adonation of a tractor worth millions of shillings from government through the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF).
While handing it over to beneficiaries at Country Inn hotel,the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Emmy Ngabirano appreciated government for supporting the agricultural sector.
He implored farmers to utilize the equipment and produce more for the market.
The District Chairperson, Cosmas Byaruhanga urged farmers to use the equipment and add value to production.
Phionah Sanyu,the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO),asked farmers to increase on thier acreage and work hard to buy another tractor using the multiplier money.
She advised the users to contribute funds as maintenance fee for the tractor to be able to handle breakages.
The Çhairperson of Bafumambogo clan in Bunyoro Sub-Region, Godfrey Musindi on receiving the tractor, explained that last year when the Prime Minister visited the district during the Bafumambogo clan celebrations,he requested for a mechanized tractor to support farmers and she pledged to give farmers 8 tractors.
However,three tractors were donated to three districts of Masindi,Kagadi and Kakumiro.
