Masindi Woman MP urges farmers to embrace coffee farming

Masindi District Woman Member of Parliament,Dr.Florence Asiimwe has urged farmers in Masindi to embrace coffee farming inorder to harness house hold income.
She said, coffee is one of the leading export products in the country that registers high returns on investment.
She said this,while addressing ateam of exhibitors, leaders and farmers last week on Saturday as she closed atwo day Agribusiness expo that was held in Masindi at the Demonstration Center-Kihonda.
This year's expo was the 11th edition held under the theme,"Promoting Commercialisation of Agriculture through Enhancing Productivity Compliance to Quality Standards and Access to Markets".
The expo was organized by the Eastern Africa Grain Council (EAGC) in partnership with Masindi District Local Government.
Speaking at the same ocassion,the District Chairperson, Cosmas Byaruhanga appreciated government for providing irrigation facilities which are aimed at supporting farmers produce in bulk for the market.
