PWDs finally Get Their Wheel chairs
By Brian Atuhura
The Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) yesterday got 15 wheel chairs after a long wait in vain.
While handing over the donation from Kinyara Sugar Ltd, in a Ceremony held at Masindi Hospital, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Emmy Ngabirano appealed to the development partners to extend more support to the PWDs with assistive devices since many don't have money to buy them.
He added that, government is committed to involving PWDs in all government programs since they are a special category.
Speaking at the same event, the District Male Councilor for PWDs William Mwambu applauded Kinyara Sugar Ltd for the donation.
He said, the assistive devices costed shillings 3.8 million and among others included 15 wheel chairs, 8 calipers and 2 artificial limbs.
