TOTAL E & P UGANDA Commended for Supporting Education System in the Albertine Graben

The Ag. Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Masindi Goeffrey Nkurunziza has commended OIl and Gas Companies Operating in the Albertine Graben for Supporting Learners in the Education Institutions.
He However requested them to also Focus on Supporting Schools and Health Facilities in Masindi District like they are doing in Buliisa, Hoima and Kikuube Districts.
Nkurunziza also advised Oli and Gas Companies Operating in the Albertine Graben to mitigate the Environment as they extract the Oil.
He was speaking to Technocrats and Officials from Oil and Gas Companies Operating in the Albertine Graben during a Joint Venture Partnership (JVP) Stake Holder Update Meeting that was held yesterday in the District Council Chambers.
Speaking in the same meeting, Didas Muhumuza the Senior Stake Holder Management Authority from Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) during his presentation revealed that they have "21 Oil and Gas Discoveries, 88% Drilling Success Rate, 6 Billion Barrels of Oil in place, 1.4 Billion Barrels of recoverable resources and 9 Production Licences".
Moses Abigaba from Total E & P Uganda while presenting on Land and Social Updates, disclosed that they have constructed 29 to 30 Resident Houses and have so far provided 29 Land Titles to the re-settled people in Buliisa, Hoima and Kikuube Districts. He added that, 786 acres of Land have been reserved for Industrial use in the Oil and Gas Sector.
He also said over 150 Welders have been trained with 15% Females.
Meanwhile, David Kagoro the Corporate Affairs Manager from CNOOC, said that they have constructed 31 Wells, 20 Production Wells and 11 Injection wells from 4 Well Pads, they have constructed the Central Processing Facility (CPF) where Export Standard Oil is produced.
He also reveled that, 120 Best performing Students were awarded with Shillings 30 Million during last year in Recognition of their Academic Execellence in the Districts of Hoima and Kikuube.
He later on said that that training and Licencing of 70 Heavy GoodsVehicle Drivers is on going at Safe Way Right Way.
