The Deputy Resident District Commissioner (DRDC) Masindi, Dhaala Sanon has hailed Emyooga SACCOs in Masindi district for exhibiting good performance.
Addressing the SACCO leadership of Bujenje and Buruli constituencies in a meeting held today at the district headquarters,Sanon said that he has visited anumber of districts and he observed that most of their Emyooga SACCOs had collapsed majorly caused by mismanagement of SACCO funds.
Speaking in the same engagement,the Senior Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (SACAO),Fred Kisembo, cautioned SACCO leaders against giving out loans without proper scrutiny especially to members who might have political ambitions saying that this might be difficult to recover the loans disbursed to them.
On his part, Emmanuel Muhwezi, the Western Regional Manager for Micro-Finance Support Centre (MSC), appealed to the SACCO leaders to avoid engaging in fraud as this vice might deter the growth of SACCOs.
The Principal Commercial Officer,Moses Kalyegira urged Associations to renew their certificates inorder to acquire more funds from their SACCOs through support from Micro-Finance Support Centre.
