IRAS digital revenue system launched in Masindi district

Masindi district Chairperson, Cosmas Byaruhanga has today launched the Integrated Local Revenue Administration System (IRAS), with a call to implement the digital revenue system inorder to streamline and harness revenue collection.
He says, allot of revenue has been lost through the manual approach of collection where by revenue collectors have not been realizing 100% collections from the tax payers.
According to James Ogwang,the project coordinator from Local Government Finance Commission,the IRAS has been designed to enable local governments realize 100% revenue collections and avoid revenue leakages.
He added that,of the districts that have already been rolled to the digital revenue tool,have enhanced thier revenue collections tripling the past mode of manual collections.
Masindi district is the 52nd district that has been rolled onto the IRAS.
Speaking in the same event,the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Phionah Sanyu, implored Parish chiefs to learn this tool since it's going to be efficient as its simple, instant and reliable .
She added that, revenue collections will now be tracked occasionally.
