Lions Clubs International donates relief items to Kimengo residents hit by floods

Lions Clubs International has today donated relief items to residents of Kimengo Sub-County in Masindi district who were recently affected by heavy floods.
The relief items donated to villages of Myeba and Kayera include;3,000 kgs of maize flour,1,500 kgs of beans,295 blankets,295 tarpaulins,home utensils, jerrycans, sanitary pads, clothes for children and pampers.
Addressing the beneficiaries while at Myeba Church,the District Vice Chairperson Kassim Kabagonza who represented the District Chairperson, welcomed the donation and he urged Development Partners to also extend relief to residents of Midduma village in Kijunjubwa Sub-County who were equally hit by the same floods.
Close to 360 families have received relief from Lions Clubs International and Hoima Karitas Development Organization (HOCADEO) who delivered 1 tonne of maize flour.
Speaking at the same function,the District Governor from Lions Clubs International,Dr. Stanley Bubikire told stakeholders that as an organization,they fast truck disasters among thier programs and that when they got information of the heavy floods that displaced families in Kimengo Sub-County,they had to come in to rescue the situation.
The Principal Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (PACAO), Musa Kyamiza who represented CAO,lauded Lions Clubs International for thier generous support.
He however, thanked government for providing an enabling environment for Development Partners to perform thier duties.
