Masindi district ball games team flagged off to Soroti

Masindi district Assistant Resident District Commissioner (ARDC), Hellen Tugume has today officially flagged off the district ball games team to Soroti district for national competitions with a call to participants to exhibit high level discipline.
The flagged off team of 40 pupils aged 14 and below,is comprised of football, netball and volleyball games.
The national competitions are slated to commence tomorrow 27th August and will end on 5th September in Soroti district.
Speaking at the same ceremony held at the district headquarters,the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Masindi, Tappy Namulondo lauded the District Education Officer and the entire sports fraternity for organizing the district ball games team successfully.
She also encouraged the sports team to develop interest and take sports as a career since the games are earning highly.
The Acting District Education Officer (Ag.DEO) Monica Kiiza,said the competitions started at school level up to district level where Kijunjubwa primary school, Kinyara Sugar Works primary school and Bulyango Public primary school emerged as the champions at district level with Bulyango Public primary school defeating other schools in football for boys while Kijunjubwa primary school was the best in netball for girls and Kinyara Sugar Works primary school emerged the best in volleyball for boys.
