Masindi District Council on Monday, approved the Budget Estimates for Financial Year 2022/2023 worth Shs 30 billions earmarked for operationalization and service delivery in the district.
While reading the Budget Estimates during the Council plenary that was held in the district council chambers,the Sec.for Finance, Pamela Nyakato revealed that, thier was aslight increase of Shs 4 billion from shs 26 billion for FY 2021/22 to shs 30 billion for FY 2022/23 representing an increment of 15.94%.
She expressed concern ,over departments whose budgets have been cut as a result of no District Discretionary Equalisation Grant(DDEG) and they include, Administration, Natural resources, Planning,Audit,Roads and the water sector.
Speaking during the same event,the Resident District Commissioner Emmy Ngabirano cautioned the public against engaging in gambling activities especially those in rural areas without licenced betting companies.
