Masindi District Council approves shs 36billion budget for FY 2025/2026

Masindi District Council yesterday unanimously passed budget estimates worth shs 36billions for the new financial year of 2025/2026.
While reading the budget estimates during the council plenary,the Secretary for Finance, Pamela Nyakato revealed that the locally raised revenue for the new financial year is estimated at shs 1.9billion while Discretionary Government Transfers are estimated at shs 4.4billion,Other Government Transfers are anticipated to cost shs 1.2billion and External Financing is anticipated to cost shs 805.9million.
Meanwhile,the Education department took lion's share with shs 12,071,666,000 followed by Health department with shs 9,496,663,000, Administration department was allocated shs 6,963,718,000, Production had shs 1,871,478,000, Roads and Engineering was allocated shs 1,616,603,000, Community Based Services had shs 1,081,067,000, Statutory Bodies was allocated shs 995,376,000,Water department was allocated shs 674,578,000, Natural Resources had shs 466,428,000,Finance was allocated shs 315,863,000, Planning had shs 243,648,000 while Trade, Industry and Local Development had shs 130,218,000 and Internal Audit had the least funding with shs 103,224,000.
