Masindi RDC calls for poverty eradication

The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Masindi, Darius Nandinda has rallied residents of Pumuzika and Juba in the Sub-Counties of Budongo and Labongo respectively to utilize the peace and security provided by government through engaging in income generating projects that will alleviate poverty amongst thier communities.
He also urged the locals to intensify security of their property especially during the festive season as many wrong elements might target the security gaps in home steads.
The RDC, delivered his message today while officiating the launching of road works of over shs 190m in the Sub-Counties of Labongo and Budongo.
In Labongo Sub-County,the swamp raising of Juba-Alimugonza(100m) stretch was launched at shs 90m while in Budongo Sub-County,the swamp raising of Bwinamira III-Ekarakaveni (100m)stretch,was launched at shs 100m.
Speaking at the same event,the District Chairperson, Cosmas Byaruhanga challenged the Member of Parliament for Bujenje County Hon.Kenneth Kiiza Nyendwoha to push for a seed secondary school for Budongo Sub-County as well as more health facilities and piped water so that the residents get better socio-economic services.
The Member of Parliament for Buruli County,Hon.Aled Ronald Akugizibwe,expressed his worry over his electorates saying that he has lobbied for many seed secondary schools but the numbers of learners to utilize the facilities might be meager with the high level school dropout rates.
He said,this act would jeopardize his tireless efforts for extending education services nearer to his electorates.
On his part,the Principal Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (PACAO)Musa Kyamiza,asked the Acting Supervisor of Works (Ag.SOW) Joseph Sunday,to deliver quality road works such that value for money is visible.
Meanwhile,the District Councilor for Budongo Sub-County, Timothy Twesige lauded the district council for appropriating funds of over shs 100m that are to be used on the swamp raising of Bwinamira III-Ekarakaveni,that had been in a sorry state affecting the transportation of goods and services.
