Masindi RDC Implores Tilenga project to create lasting economic impact to the society

Masindi Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Emmy Ngabirano has implored Tilenga officials to create interventions which will impact economically and last long for the beneficiaries.
Ngabirano explained that,anumber of NGO's bring projects to the society which only perform well when the organization is still available but cramble and sometimes vanish whenever the organization has closed it's operations in a particular area leaving the intended beneficiaries in dilemma.
He also asked the project coordinators to exhibit transparence and accountability in the execution of the new project dubbed,"Provision of Gender Management Service".
The RDC was addressing stakeholders today in an engagement meeting organized by Tilenga project and held in the district council chambers.
The new project dubbed,"Provision of Gender Management Service"is being implemented by Tilenga with funding from Total Energies.
Speaking in the same meeting,the Deputy Project Manager from Tilenga, Ronald Kakande clarified that the new project will mainly focus on gender related aspects and that they will promote gender equality.
The Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (DCAO), Robert Abia Owilli,while making his submission,he appealed to the project coordinators to consider absorbing the local content when the opportunity is availed.
In his closing remarks,the District Chairperson, Cosmas Byaruhanga requested the project officials to consider reviving the traditional schools within the region to enable them attract more learners.
He also underscored the need for the project implementers to empower communities with information and also sensitize them on effects of Gender Based Violence.
