Shs 193.3 m road works launched in Masindi

The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Masindi, Emmy Ngabirano has launched road works worth Shs 193.3 million for spot improvement and mechanized maintenance in Masindi district.
The launched roads are;Spot improvement of Kyangamoyo-Kaikuku(12km)road costing shs 64.5 m in Kijunjubwa Sub-County, Mechanized Maintenance of Kimengo -Masindi Port road (10km) costing shs 59.2m and Mechanized Maintenance of Walyoba -Kihonda (7.1km)road costing shs 69.6m in Labongo Sub-County.
Addressing the locals as he launched the road works,the RDC Emmy Ngabirano asked the locals to maintain the roads in good conditions through controlling cattle movements on the roads.
Speaking at the same event,the District Vice Chairperson, Kassim Kabagonza who represented the District Chairperson, advised farmers to prepare thier fields as the rains are about to come.
The Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (DCAO), Robert Abia Owilli who represented CAO, explained that the reason for project launching and commissioning is to create a plat form for transparency and accountability to the citizens where specific projects are located.
The Supervisor of Works (SOW), Sunday Joseph explained the scope of works on the three roads saying that bush clearing will be one of the components, grading, shaping and compaction to put the worked roads in a good state.
