Shs 305.9m approved as supplementary budget by Masindi district

Masindi district council on Tuesday this week approved funds worth shs 305.9m supplementary budget.
Out of shs 305.9m,shs 297.9m is meant to support community groups under the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA)revenue proceeds usually allocated to the three Sub-Counties that neighbor Murchison Falls National park including Pakanyi, Kiruli and Labongo.
Shs 8m is allocated to procure Foot and Mouth disease vaccines.
The Secretary for Finance, Pamela Nyakato while presenting the budget estimates for the new financial year 2025/2026, revealed that the district resource envelope is anticipated to decrease from shs 36.4billions for the current running financial year to shs 36.3billions representing 0.047% majorly being caused by a reduction in conditional government transfers and external financing.
In another development, council also approved the district annual integrated work plan for the financial year 2025/2026 and also laid the draft five year National Development Plan IV.
