Valley tank costing shs 531.4m launched for construction

The Tuura Valley tank worth Shs 531.4 million has today been launched for construction in Katakungirwa-Tuura village in Ntooma Parish Bwijanga Sub-County Masindi district .
Addressing project beneficiary residents,the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Masindi, Emmy Ngabirano cautioned cattle keepers against grazing animals in people's gardens.
He also appealed to locals to utilize the water for production and increase on thier milk production.
He however, asked the contractor to employ skilled locals especially during the construction works to enable them earn income from the project.
Speaking at the same event,the Secretary for Production Geoffrey Kiiza Bigabwa who represented the District Chairperson,lauded government for extending water to communities.
He asked the Contractor for TMS Engineering Company to do quality work and complete the project within the stipulated time frame.
The Director TMS Engineering Company which was contracted to construct the valley tank, Emmanuel Mfitumukiza told locals that the project will be executed within a period of six months.
He said,the valley tank works will cost shs 257,286,500, livestock watering troughs will cost shs 39,908,610 while watering amenities will cost shs 112,254,566 as well as other additional costs.
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Masindi, Phionah Sanyu encouraged locals to monitor keenly the execution of the project to enable the contractor produce quality work.
She also implored them to embrace government programs like Emyooga and the Parish Development Model (PDM) to improve on thier standards of living.
