Shs 1.3 billion road projects commissioned in Masindi

Atotal of shs 1.3 billion road projects were yesterday commissioned for use by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Emmy Ngabirano.
The commissioned rehabilitated roads among others include; Kasongoire -Nyakyeiju-Kimanya(10.2)km road inclusive of Bwinamira swamp raising costing shs 670.1m, Biraizi -Kilanyi (8)km road worth shs 298.6m and Kyatiri -Kitanyata (10.5)km road worth shs400.4 million.
Speaking as he handed over the roads to the beneficiaries,the RDC appreciated the Acting Supervisor of Works(Ag.SOW),for the tireless efforts he executed on correcting afew defects which helped him produce quality road works.
He also underscored the need by the road users to utilize these roads productively through producing more products for the market.
Ngabirano,asked the LCI Chairpersons to convene security meetings inorder to identify and report wrong elements in villages to enable the communities celebrate the festive season safely.
Speaking at the same event,the District Vice Chairperson, Kassim Kabagonza who represented the District boss, cautioned residents against destroying roads by letting cattle graze by the road sides.
The Principal Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (PACAO), Richard Kiiza who represented CAO, implored the locals to maintain the roads in good condition by supporting road gangs to execute the road works.
Meanwhile,the Acting Supervisor of Works (Ag.SOW), Joseph Sunday cited rain and high fuel prices among other challenges that slowed the road works schedule.
