Shs 324 million projects handed over to beneficiaries

Atotal of shs 324million capital projects undertaken in the FY2021/2022 have been commissioned and handed over to the users after defects were rectified.
These projects are;atwo stance latrine constructed at Bwijanga HCIV at shs 11,000,000, renovation of an OPD at Bwijanga HCIV at shs 52,043,775, construction of atwo classroom block at Nyabubale P/S at shs 62,251,997, renovation of an OPD at Kikingura HCII at shs 44,957,724, Supply and installation of a 10,000 litre plastic water tank at shs 4,996,700 at this facility, construction of atwo classroom block at Kitonozi P/S at shs 74,936,085 and construction of atwo classroom block at Kijunjubwa P/S at shs 74,467,140.
The projects were slated to be commissioned last year,but due to snugs identified by the Resident District Commissioner and other district leaders during monitoring,the team postponed handed them over to beneficiaries until the issues observed are corrected.
Speaking as he led the district team to hand over the projects on Friday this week,the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Emmy Ngabirano implored the contractors to adopt the terrazzo or tile floor models to avoid poor floor works.
He also, cautioned contractors against dragging government projects behind schedule.
This scenario, comes after the RDC and other leaders while on the monitoring exercise observed that most projects were being constructed at aslow pace.
Meanwhile,projects costing shs 44,185,600 in Bwijanga, Kimengo,Miirya and Kijunjubwa Sub Counties were also launched respectively for construction between Wednesday and Friday this week for this running FY2022/2023.
