Masindi district council approves the Integrated Annual workplan for FY 2024/2025

Masindi district council yesterday approved the Integrated Annual workplan for the FY 2024/2025.
In amotion moved by the Secretary for Finance, Pamela Nyakato during the council plenary held in the district council chambers.
Nyakato,pointed out key areas for attention which among others included; following the finalization of the special audit on government pay roll by the Office of the Auditor General,the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic development had lamped wage into two major categories that is urban and District Un Conditional Grant wage hence wage allocations had been based on the Auditor General's report findings.
She further explained that,as per the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Public Service letter dated 20th February,2024,the wage budget for the FY 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 had been reviewed and repurposed considering employees who were verified by the OAG except for votes whose staffing levels are below 65%.
In another development, council approved amotion to rename Biraizi-Kilanyi road after Kahigwa Rujumba in appreciation for his services to the people of Nyakyanika village and the district at large.
Council also received officially the free hold land title of the District Women Council land measuring 0.3640 hectares located on plot 29-31 Ntuha road in Northern cell which was secured by the District woman Member of Parliament Dr.Florence Asiimwe.
In his closing remarks,the District Chairperson Cosmas Byaruhanga, called for affirmative action to Ikoba Girls Secondary School which he said was in a sorry state.
Byaruhanga further urged leaders in Urban areas to submit their requests through council especially those who are not satisfied with the umbrella water system so that National Water and Sewerage Cooperation (NWSC),takes them up.
