Masindi to benefit soon from two electricity sub-stations -UETCL

Masindi district is delighted to have two power sub-stations that will soon be constructed by the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL)along the Hoima -Kafu transmission line.
The two electricity sub-stations will be stationed in Kinyara Sugar Limited and Kafu area respectively attracting power supply to industrial areas and also homesteads which will boost businesses according to the Senior Project Officer from Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL), Robert Kakuru.
While updating stakeholders yesterday during an engagement that was held at the district headquarters, Kakuru said the transmission line will cover approximately 92kms of 220kv down stream from Kafu sub-station covering a total of eight Sub-Counties through Masindi district to Kitoba Sub-County in Hoima district.
Of the eight Sub-Counties along the electricity line,five of them are for Masindi including Kimengo, Nyantonzi, Budongo, Bwijanga and Nyangahya.
He noted that,all the people along the project affected areas will be compensated but he urged the affected persons to cooperate with the company to fast truck their payments.
Speaking in the same meeting,the District Vice Chairperson, Kassim Kabagonza who represented the District Chairperson,called for a speedy process of land titles for the affected persons especially in Kimengo Sub-County.
