While sensitizing district leaders on physical planning yesterday, Swaibu Mutaka a physical Planner from Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, emphasized the deliberate effort required by district leadership to lobby for more funds inorder to facilitate the physical planning of the Trading centres such that they can foster quick development.
He also asked leaders to teach the locals the importance of having planned urban centres as away of making them embrace physical planning aspects.
In his remarks, the Principal Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (PACAO),Musa Kyamiza decried the low funding that local governments are grappling with to facilitate the physical planning exercise across the district.
He added that, this has led to some locals to construct houses without having physical plans which will later cost them heavily in case developments come along.
