REBDA project launched in Masindi

The Reign Business Development Agency (REBDA)was yesterday launched in Masindi district as a project which will oversee the commercialization of oil seed products.
Speaking to the stakeholders at the district headquarters,Giles Agambe,the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)of Reign Business Development Agency, revealed that on 21st June,2025,the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF)signed with them a contract with the focus of implementing an agribusiness development services consultancy for the oil seeds project in the Mid-Western hub, focusing on the ten Districts of Kikuube, Hoima, Masindi, Kyankwanzi, Kiboga, Nakaseke, Luwero, Nakasongola, Kiryandongo and also Sembabule.
He noted that,the general objective of the assignment was to provide agribusiness services to oil seed small holder farmers and also facilitate commercialization and that the project targets four key value chain crops which are , soyabean, ground nuts,sim sim and sunflower and that for the Mid-Western hub,the project has chosen to focus on soyabean and ground nuts.
He said that,for Masindi district,the project will operate in five Sub-Counties which include; Bwijanga, Bikonzi, Labongo, Pakanyi and Kiruli.
He revealed that their contract will end on 21st June,2028 which will run for a period of 36 months.
Speaking in the same meeting,the District Vice Chairperson Kassim Kabagonza,urged the project focal person to also consider other Sub-Counties such that they also benefit from the project.
The District Internal Security Officer(DISO),David Mugabi,asked the stakeholders to embrace the project and utilize the micro scale irrigation equipments to produce annually to enable increase the quantity of the products in order to attract a wider market base.
