At least 91 newly recruited employees of Masindi District Local Government have begun afive-day induction training aimed at equipping them with the knowledge,skills and values required to effectively serve in Uganda's Public Service.

The training,conducted by Civil Service College Uganda at the Masindi District Headquarters,seeks to instill a sense of belonging,promote shared public service values and cultivate a performance -oriented culture among the newly appointed staff.

Participants are expected to gain a deeper understanding of government structures,core functions,and the legal and policy framework governing the Public Service.The programme also focuses on public service ethics,organizational culture,adaptation to the work environment,and compliance with the Public Service Standing Orders,2021.

Representing the Chief Administrative Officer,the Principal Assistant Chief Administrative Officer,Musa Kyamiza,urged the new employees to actively participate in all training sessions,noting that a clear understanding of public service regulations is essential for a successful career in government.

"Everything in the Public Service is guided by laws and regulations.This induction will help you understand your responsibilities and the standards expected of you,"Kyamiza said.

While officially opening the training,the Masindi District Chairperson,Patrick Wobusobozi,challenged the employees to uphold integrity and avoid corruption,reminding them that they joined the Public Service to serve citizens with transparency,accountability and professionalism.

He also encouraged the officers to pursue further education and professional development to enhance their career growth and improve their prospects for promotion.

The induction programme will conclude on Friday with the Minister of State for Public Service,Lydia Wanyoto Mutende expected to preside over the closing ceremony.
