Masindi Receives 40,000 Fish Finger Lings

Masindi District has received 40,000 Male Tilapia Fish Finger Lings from National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) Secretariat through the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).
Speaking during the Handover Ceremony held today at the Resident District Commissioner's (RDC) Offices, the Principal Fisheries Officer Prudance Alituha revealed that the Male Tilapia Fish Finger Lings have been supplied together with Fish Feeds to Fish Farmers who registered and had all the Requirements.
She added that, the Fingerlings will be distributed to twelve Fish Farmers in the District and that if the Farmers feed the Fingerlings well, within a period of six months, they will be able to fetch good income since the fish will have grown to table size (eatable size) and can therefore be sold.
Major Ande Oye Matua, the OWC Coordinator in charge of Bujenje County who represented the District OWC Coordinator advised the beneficiaries to always seek for Technical Advise from the Fisheries Extension Workers incase they face challenges with the Fish Fingerlings
While handing over the Fish Fingerlings to Fish Farmers, the Deputy RDC Dominic Tibasimwa applauded Government for supporting Farmers and called upon the Beneficiaries to handle the Project well in order to attain profits.
